Chief Fertility Specialist, Dr. Joseph Garza, a San Antonio, TX native, earned his medical degree from the University Of Texas Southwestern Medical School Of Dallas. Following a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas, he completed a fellowship in fertility and reproductive endocrinology.
Dr. Garza is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Association of Gynecologists Laparoscopists. He is also a member of the Society for Reproductive Surgeons, The American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Society of Assisted Reproductive Technologies and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Endometriosis Association.
A progressive leader, Dr. Garza performed the first Gamete Intra-Fallopian Transfer (GIFT) procedure in private practice in San Antonio at the Nix Hospital in 1985, as well as the first 2 cases using donor eggs in Texas. As a Reproductive Surgeon, Dr. Garza performed the first da Vinci Robotic Tubal Reversal and Robotic Internal Abdominal Cerclage in the nation.
Dr. Garza is also an international lecturer and da Vinci robotic instructor for advanced laser, reproductive surgical and microsurgical procedures.
The father of four children and two grandchildren, Dr. Garza lives in San Antonio with his wife.
