Melia M. Lucero, MD
Melia Lucero, M.D., joined Oakwood Women’s Centre in 2017. A Southwest native, Dr. Lucero is deeply passionate about women’s health, and is proud to serve women of all ages at our Round Rock ObGyn practice.
Dr. Lucero earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where she also completed her medical education and residency. She learned a great deal during her time at the University of New Mexico, as she was able to observe and treat a variety of conditions related to obstetrics and gynecology.
After graduation, Melia Lucero, M.D., began working for Baylor Scott & White Health at a small community hospital in Marble Falls, Texas. At the community hospital, she was instrumental in creating an Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, which she also chaired. While at Baylor Scott & White, she also served on a number of hospital administrative committees.
Dr. Lucero is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also a physician at our Round Rock ObGyn practice, where she helps women find balance in their overall health. According to Dr. Lucero, “A lot of times women are the caregivers of their families but forget to care for themselves. What brought me to medicine in general is that women need to be taken care of.”
Dr. Lucero provides medical care to women at all life stages, but she has a special interest in obstetrical care and evaluating infertility. Dr. Lucero is proud to be working with the enthusiastic and dedicated physicians at our Round Rock ObGyn practice, while serving the community that she loves.
When she is not at work, Dr. Lucero enjoys baking, watching her children’s many sporting events and spending time with her family. She is also involved in medical service missions to bring general, obstetric and gynecological care to under-served areas in Central America.
She was caring and took her time explaining.
I had a very good experience with Dr Lucero. She was caring and took her time explaining. I didn’t feel like I was a “number” on her schedule to get through the day.
She made me feel so much better about everything!
This is my first pregnancy so I was anxious and a little nervous for my first appointment but as soon as the Dr. Lucero came in, started talking to my husband and I and answered questions we had, I felt right at ease. She made me feel so much better about everything!
