Baby Care Basics
February 8 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Jillian Silva, ICCE, ICCD Congratulations on your expected arrival! Sharing the adventure of childbirth can be both exciting and mystifying. The more knowledge you have the less mystery there will be! I have been a certified childbirth educator and Doula since 1995, and have taught at the YWCA, privately, and at various hospitals.
This is a one day, fast-paced 6-hour class on a Saturday, with a hospital tour included
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Common discomforts of pregnancy
- Stages of labor and birth
- When to go to the hospital
- Comfort Measures: An overview of breathing and relaxation techniques.
- Positions to enhance labor will be practiced.
- LUNCH BREAK
- Pain control options, epidural, medical support and interventions
- Cesarean birth
- Postpartum care
- TOUR of L & D
Best Time to Take the Childbirth Series:
The recommendation for when to take the class is to have the series COMPLETED at least a month before your due date. (For example, take the month you are due in and subtract 2 months). That month would be the ideal month to start your class!
Fast and convenient registration can be done right here. Classes fill up very quickly! Register EARLY! Please click the link below where you can reserve your time slot and make a secure payment. If you have any concerns or issues with the online scheduler, you can contact me by phone at 512-773-2375. You can also visit my website at Austin Childbirth for more information.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
