Vanessa Yium, MD
Dr. Vanessa Yium joined Women Partners in Health in 2003. Austin native, Vanessa Yium MD, joined WPIH in 2003. She currently serves on the Seton Medical Center Perinatal Council. She enjoys caring for women throughout all phases of life from adolescence, through childbearing, and into menopause. She appreciates and advocates for alternative and holistic treatments, and incorporates them into her patient care, and also uses minimally invasive surgical techniques in addition to typical surgical procedures.
Dr. Yium is fluent in Spanish which is helpful to make sure the
Austin populations she serves are heard and understood. Her caring and compassion for people is shown through in her work and dedication to her patients. Dr. Yium’s ability to be present and listen to her patients creates a comforting, holistic and exceptional patient experience. Dr. Yium earned a BA in History with highest honors at The Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. She attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where she was AOA, and completed her residency at Parkland in Dallas, where she was Chief Resident.
Her education, training and background affords her the ability to care for patients with a wide variety of gynecological and obstetrical needs while providing guidance and information to allow them to understand their bodies. Outside of work, Dr. Yium enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Luke and Sydney. She also loves running, cooking, yoga, skiing, hiking and traveling with her family.
